Share Amber Alerts

Someone recently asked if they were a bad person for not sharing Amber Alerts. Now I wouldn't say that someone is a bad person for not sharing them, but take a minute and think about it...

What if this missing person was your child, your sibling, your nephew/niece, a friend's kid, etc? If it was someone you loved wouldn't you want people to share it? I would.

Someone commented on this person's post and said, "I didn't share it because I live in  (a state far away) ." Once again lets think about this.

This kid could have been kidnapped, ran away, could be with some murderer, or rapist.. you don't know who has them or where they are. They could be in the same town they disappeared from or they could be states away.

No matter how far away you are you should share it. Even if you live far away you could have a friend who lives close who see's this person or you could see this person. Who knows, you could save their life.

I have to admit before I had my son, I never thought about it that way. Once you have a kid you understand the need to protect your kid and this overwhelming love that you have for them and you start thinking about how you'd feel if it was your kid.  I know I'd be desperate, crushed, totally heartbroken...

I'm not saying that you're a bad person if you haven't shared. I'm just hoping that this will cause you to think about it a little differently and start sharing them from now on.

A Renter's Application / Tips

So you're looking to rent. You've found a place you might like or you're just  hoping someone will have something that will fit you so you're going from place to place. Now you have to fill out an application.
Most landlords now have you fill out an Application. Why? Good question. One it tells them a bit about you. Name, age, current landlord, employer, how much money you make, etc. Two they use said information to look you up online and see your background. Criminal history, evictions, etc. You may be wondering why they need to know how much you make. Believe it or not it's not to be nosy. They want to make sure that you'll make enough to pay rent and be able to still afford your other bills and food.

 So I'll type up a rough draft of what the application might look like (for those who don't know).

Every place will have a different looking application, but this is just some of what to expect. 

If something doesn't apply to you put N/A. Why? It looks better and the landlord will know that you didn't just miss/skip the question. Example: A man filling out the Application would put N/A next to Maiden name because a man's last name doesn't change so it doesn't apply to them.

For the Interested In you'll need to either put one of that renters places that you're interested in or what you need. For example: a couple with a kid will need to put 2 bdrm (or more if you want more). If you are specifically looking for a house specify 2 bdrm house. If you prefer a house, but it isn't an absolute have to put 2 bdrm house preferred (but not necessary).

About the middle name. Some of you may ask why that's necessary. Reason is you may have a common name and having your middle name helps make sure that we are looking at your information and not some other John/Jane Doe. Wouldn't you love for a landlord to pin an eviction on you that wasn't yours? Or pin a criminal record on you that wasn't yours? I wouldn't.

About current or previous landlord info. They ask because if they have a question about you as a tenant (If you're clean, pay your rent on time, good tenant, etc.) Most of the time landlords don't call your previous landlord, but they might. 

About evictions. If you are currently being evicted you would answer this with a yes. Why? Because if you say no because the eviction hasn't gone through yet, but they find out you're going through an eviction you'll look like a liar. So yes, even if it isn't final just say yes!

Tips:

If you have an appealing background keep it that way! It's not easy for people with a bad background check to get a place to rent. There are plenty of ways to get through life and have fun without having a bad background. 

If you're having trouble with a job, theft isn't the answer. You fill out job application after job application, talk to your family, friends, neighbors maybe they'll have some job that they'd be willing to pay you to do (painting, mow the lawn, move some boxes, babysit, clear their drive of snow, etc.) Talk to some churches they may have some work for you to do and if they don't maybe they'd be willing to write you a $25 or more check to help out. There's always a choice.  

Some of you may have a not so appealing background aka criminal record, evictions, etc. if that's the case, don't lie. That doesn't help you at all. Remember they look up the information so they know what your background is. Lying to them makes you automatically untrustworthy and no one wants to rent to someone that lies to them. If you lie about your background whose to say you aren't lying about paying your rent? See what I mean? If you have evictions that aren't P.I.F. (Paid in full) call that landlord and pay it off. If you can't pay off the full amount start a payment plan with them. Landlords would rather you pay $20/month on your back due than have you not paying at all. And that also makes you look better. If you've set up a payment plan, most landlords would like to see that you've been consistently paying the previous landlord(s) at least for a few months (probably more like 6 months) before they feel anywhere near ok renting to you. They will want proof that you're paying so have that landlords phone number and, if you can, a print out letter or pay sheet from the landlord proving that you've paid. The way a landlord sees it is if you left owing them money you'll probably do the same to me. No one wants to rent to someone who won't pay their rent.

Believing Isn't Enough

Let's talk about what the Bible has to say about the Holy Ghost.

 "He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied." -Acts 19:2-6 Bible.com/app

Believing isn't enough to be saved, it's only a part. Even Satan and his demons believe in God. The scripture clearly asks if you received the Holy Ghost since you first believed. Why would it ask if it wasn't important? In the scripture they were baptized in Jesus name. And when they received the Holy Ghost they spoke in tongues, which is the evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost.

A little about tongues.

6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? 9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontusand Asia,[b] 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” - Acts 2:6-11

When you speak in tongues, you're speaking a language that you do NOT know. It could be Spanish, Chinese, French, or any other language. But what language it is isn't important (Although I am a bit curious what mine is) what's important is that you received the Holy Ghost and that God is living inside of you. Speaking in tongues is giving God the reign over your tongue. You open your mouth and let God take control. So whatever comes out let it out, it's going to sound funny, but it will be the most amazing experience. Best gift you'll ever receive and the best decision you'll ever make.

God hasn't stopped calling people! If you say you're a preacher than you'll often say/hear that you're CALLED of God. God has CALLED us to be His followers that means me, that means you. Saint or sinner you were CALLED. We are CALLED, we are chosen! 

Someone, some average Joe, somewhere in history decided that the Holy Ghost and Baptism weren't necessary. But see the scripture below! 

JOHN 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

 Notice I didn't say it, my Pastor didn't say it. JESUS said it! Born of the water = baptism. Born of the Spirit = Receiving the Holy Ghost/speaking in tongues.

Lets talk about Baptism!...

The scripture say to baptize in Jesus name. 

His name is Jesus not the Father, Son and, The Holy Ghost. Those are titles 

The name of the Father, Jesus. The name of the son, Jesus. The name of the Holy Ghost, Jesus.

Also sprinkling is not being baptized. One day some regular Joe decided that was ok. Real baptism is to be fully submerged under the water and in Jesus name. 

Let's talk about confession/praying...

One there's not one place in the Bible that says to pray to Mary. She didn't die for your sins so why would you pray to her? 

Two you no longer have to go to a Pastor, preacher, priest to talk to God. 

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; - Matthew 27:50-51 

If you know much about scripture at all the veil was in place and only the priest could go behind it. Once Jesus dies the veil was ripped giving us access to God without a priest.

Let's talk about Oneness just a bit...

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

So Jesus says that He, Jesus, and His Father, God, are ONE. Well if Jesus says They're one then that goes to prove that all the scriptures saying "One Lord", "One God" is really saying there's no trinity.

 

Sorry I know some of this is going to be jumping from thing to thing and maybe out of order. This was supposed to be this simple post about you can't just believe in God to be saved, but the more scriptures I used for proof the more things I realized needed to be explained as well. And there's WAY more to explain, but this, this is the start.
