A Bit Fit..Oh I Mean FitBit

So I now have a FitBit! I'm pretty excited! I got it late in the day, but I hurried up and got my 10,000 steps in around 4 hours. Who knows how many steps I've taken today before that, but I wanted my 10,000.

I can't wait to take it to work and see how many steps I get in while I'm there! I hope it's as many as it feels like, but you never know. If it is great, if it isn't I guess I'll just have to work harder at work. Lol.

All this walking has made me super thirsty and I've been forcing myself to drink more water around 40 oz a day.. I know, I know I'm supposed to drink more than that. I'll get there. I've only been drinking it for 3 days. I don't like to drink water, I'm a SWEET tea or pop (soda) person. BUT I have noticed health benefits already from drinking water so the suffering will be worth it.

Also I'll be tracking what I eat so I can TRY to stay at a certain amount of calories a day. The FitBit app has so far had everything I've ate and that's unusual, most apps don't have a lot of restaurant foods (which is about all I've ate today).

I'm REALLY liking this FitBit!

I can't wait to lose some weight and get my body back to being healthier!

Today Had Nothing On Summertime.....

Today was the busiest day I've had at my job (customer wise) and I asked my coworkers if this was anywhere near what we deal with in the summertime and they said no! We sell fountain drinks and everyone loves them.. especially with the "nugget" (crushed) ice. So summer time everyone is coming to us for their drinks. This ought to be fun! I believe I'll finally lose all this extra weight.. maybe 5 lbs a week being that busy every day! LOL
My stomach hurt so bad today from all the leaning/bending out the drive thru window and stocking cigarettes which took me 4 hours to do because of all the people coming in and out/through the drive thru! It shouldn't have taken that long at all.
I can't wait for the warm weather! Watch out, coworkers, I'll be pushing you out of the window so I can feel the nice weather. LOL.

I Work Out

For a week and one day I have been working out via the Wii, Wii Fit. We've had the Wii and Wii fit for years, but I just now got back to it. I work out for at least 30 minutes, which on the Wii depending on what exercises you choose can take 30 min to a little over an hour. I started off burning a little over 90 calories and I've worked up to 145 calories. I do Yoga, Strength training, balance, aerobic, etc. They have workout workouts and they have ways to workout that seem more like games.

My weight has been shifting around like crazy according to the Wii fit board, but I don't trust it's measurements especially since we have carpet and that always throws things like this off. The Wii will randomly tell me during my workout that I've shifted weight between one exercise and another.. uh yeah, because that's possible.. Let me just pack on 5 lbs in a one to two minute span LOL

My stomach is getting harder, which for the time being hurts. My legs are getting stronger, but feel weak from being sore. My arms are sore.. not so sure about how they're doing strength wise. Lol. Even my *clears throat* .. bottom .. is getting toned up! Lol.

It feels good. I still find myself tired, but I'm sure when this extra weight is gone that won't be an issue so much.

As I said earlier I'm doing 145 calorie burn. That's what I've been doing the past 3 days. I'm going to stick at 145 for probably around a week so I'm not pushing to hard and then I'll go to the next level.. I'm not in front of the Wii or I'd tell you what that is.

Support/Motivation
I've had some motivation besides the normal just wanting to lose weight.

I have a friend who's really worked hard, he's lost weight, and he's working towards some awesome goals. He's a bit like me, he'd been on and off again many times with his fitness,  but he's stuck to it and it's really paid off. I believe he's even working toward becoming a trainer so that's awesome.

I have another friend who's supportive and honest and just a great person to have as a friend. Having support and honesty from someone you trust is a big thing.

I, of course, have the support and honesty of my Mom and I love her, but let's be honest sometimes it's easier when you have a friend over a relative to support you and be brutally honest with you, especially about fitness. Not that I don't love your input Mom! :-)

Dieting Day 3

Hello, I hope your day is going great!

I won't put how much I weigh every post because, as we all know, you just don't drop lbs that quick. Sometimes you lose and sometimes you gain *sigh*

Today's Shake is strawberry, kiwi, banana, celery, carrot, and milk. Once again for being healthy it isn't that bad. Would I say I'd crave these shakes? No way. But I do think that they're helping me.

Along with my shakes I'm eating less portions, drinking a lite cranberry juice, eating more healthy food, not drinking pop, and trying to drink more water.. which so far has only happened at restaurants and a couple times at home. I really dislike drinking water!

To be honest I feel like I've been eating and drinking like this forever... and I don't mean that in a good way. I'm craving boneless wings, pasta, a steak, or something else completely fattening. And it's not that I'm not eating any of this stuff I'm just eating WAY less of it and my body wants WAY more of it. I constantly have cravings.. No, I'm not pregnant.. I've just always had cravings. Typically (Almost always) if I eat something that I'm not craving than I'm still hungry. Fighting the urge to eat everything in sight has not been easy. My husband was under the impression that I was going to just drop everything that I'd normally eat.. I'd love to say I have the willpower to do that, but I don't. My weight loss will take longer than I want doing it this way, but being miserable would make me give up all together and I don't want to be this big any longer.

Is anyone else out there suffering with me on a diet? Do you lack the willpower like me? Or are you one of those lucky people who can go fattening to healthy in .3sec? Please comment and let me know how your diet is going

Day 1 of 40 lb weight loss

Day 1:
I'm starting a few things to help me lose weight. Such as shakes in the morning, eating smaller portions, no (or at least way less) pop, and just eating less in general. If I seem upset it's probably because I'm starving!

Today's shake/smoothie/the thing I threw in the blender/whatever you'd like to call it has celery, carrots, blueberries, a banana, some milk, and a little bit of cinnamon.
It may sound gross, but for getting me fruits and veggies it's actually pretty good. I don't taste the veggies so that's a huge plus. I cannot stand celery or raw carrots! I didn't use a recipe I just started throwing some things in there and got something great. So not only will this hopefully help me to lose weight, but it will help me to be creative :-)

Hopefully I can stick with this. My short term goal is 1 lb a month. My long term goal is 125-130 lbs. The short term goal not so hard. The long term kind of seems impossible to be honest.  If I keep with my short term goal that's 12 lbs a year which means I'd make my long term goal in... about 3 1/2 yrs. I hope it doesn't take that long, but I've been big for 5ish yrs so 3 1/2 yrs isn't to bad I guess, it's better than being big any longer!

Any advice? Feel free to comment!

Weight Loss….

Can we say UGH!? Over the past 5 years I’ve gained “a lot” (It’s a lot for my body) of weight, an extra 40-45 lbs. to be exact. It’s safe to say I don’t feel healthy at 160 lbs. So I’ve started trying to lose weight.

I’ve started exercising. Sit ups, push ups, walking more, etc. The above mentioned are the most common, but when I get a chance I add in stretching and jumping jacks. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but I’ve been doing the sit ups and push ups every day for a month and I feel stronger.

I still haven’t noticed much change in my weight, but it takes time to lose weight. And it doesn’t help that since I’ve started exercising I’ve been constantly hungry and eating a lot. I’m hoping that “side effect” will go away soon.

The slight changes I’ve seen in weight is that I’ll lose a couple lbs., but then I gain them right back within a day or two. Sometimes I gain back more than I lost                       :’(                It’s so frustrating! Lol.

I’ll try to keep you posted on my weight loss efforts.
