33 Weeks

Time has most definitely slowed down! It seems like every week is creeping by and I can't do anything to speed it up :(

I have another Dr.'s Appointment today where I will be meeting with a Nurse Practitioner. Not sure what all is going to be talked about, but I'm excited :P The next appointment (after this one) will be when I start going every week, I think.

-My back has been hurting more and more and lower and lower :(
-Heartburn really hasn't been bad. Thank God!
-Sleeping almost seems like a thing of the past, unless I'm sleeping during the day.
-I can't eat a whole lot. And yes, I've tried eating lots of small meals, there's just no room in my stomach. So even if I feel like I'm starving I can't eat because it will make me feel so sick.
-I'm still really only swelling if it gets hot out
-My stomach feels so heavy and like it's being stretched to the max
-So far no signs of any type of contractions, water breaking, or mucus plug
-He's still kicking away and the kicks are getting more and more powerful. And yes, he STILL loves my ribs! But some days his kicking is starting to slow down, which means birth is soon(ish)!! YAY!

Hubby and I are most definitely ready for the Pregnancy part to be over! We want to hold our little one! And as I keep saying, I want to feel somewhat normal again.

Life recently has been busy. It seems that my only time that I have to really do anything social is late at night or early in the morning. And yes, I know it will get even busier once the baby is here.

Well, I think that's all I have to say about it for right now. If anything interesting happens at my appointment... or maybe even if it doesn't, I'll get back on here and tell you about it.

Baby Center says:

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

32 Weeks

A little less than 2 months left to go! It's so close!

This week:
-I've experienced more hip pain
-My heartburn hasn't been to bad
-My backpain is about the same, which is well, painful.
-My swelling is the same (bad when hot out)
-Seth's kicks/movement is happening less since he has less room, but he's got some power in his movement!

At my Dr. Appointment:
They took my blood pressure, which was a little low, but nothing to be concerned about
Seth's heart rate was in the 130's
Dr. told me she thinks that Seth was actually in birthing position (We'll make sure he is around 36 weeks)

The nursery would have been finished, paint wise, but Walmart didn't have enough of one of the mixing colors and that color is on back order so God only knows when they'll get it in. Luckily all that is left is the second coat on 2 small walls. Then I can finally get things set up! At least I know where I want almost everything to be so the actual set up shouldn't be that difficult plus he won't be sleeping in the nursery for a couple months after birth at least so we've got time.

I've been trying to get my hospital bag packed. The diaper bag is basically set. I've washed most of Seth's clothes (the ones that we currently have. I'm sure there will be plenty more from the Baby Shower.) and put them in the dresser. Hubby still needs to get the carseat base in the vehicle. Most everything else that needs to be done can be done before or after Seth arrives.

Baby Center says:

How your baby's growing:
By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

31 Weeks

As of today I'm 31 weeks pregnant! If I was to tell you that I'm not slightly scared in the least little bit I would be lying. So many women are going into early labor and having their babies at 34 weeks (or sooner). Now I don't think that will happen to me, but that's still a little disturbing. If I do well, I'll just be trusting God for a healthy baby. After all that's all I would be able to do. But anyways I'm basically more scared of labor. Scared I won't know I'm in labor or scared that it will be way to painful right from the beginning.

My mom did tell me that it's nothing like the movies where they suddenly grab their stomach and are in intense pain. So that helped some. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (OOOOOOOO...continue with this forever) glad that I have such a great mom who I can go to with my worries about pregnancy and everything else! I couldn't imagine being pregnant or having a baby and not having her around to lean on for help. I'm not saying that I don't have any other people in my life I can go to, but I mean really if you can go to your own mom why go to someone else? Lol.

-Seth has been kicking less, now it's just mainly movement, stretching, etc.
-Heartburn came back last week, it was brutal! But luckily I've not had to deal with that for the past couple of days. Thank you, God!
-I haven't been swelling a lot
- I have been getting little cramps. I was unsure what they were and so I asked my mom who told me that it's just the things in my body stretching out preparing for birth. How exciting *I'm almost there, I'm almost there...* LOL
-My legs have been attempting to cramp up on me, but luckily haven't. Thank God again! They typically try to cramp up at night when I've randomly woken up.
-Headaches. Yep, I've got them, but that's nothing abnormal for me.

The nursery is almost completely painted. All mom has to do is roll a couple spots. I call them spots because she's trimmed already and the walls left really aren't that big so it's, in my eyes, just a spot. Lol.

I can't wait to get things set up where they're going to be! I'll love just having the nursery done and ready for when I need it.
I still need quite a few things for the nursery and hopefully people will pay attention to the registry instead of just going out and buying clothes. Because I already have some clothes. Yes, I could use some more, which have been added to the registry also. I'm also very picky about colors and styles of clothes so I'm hoping people will notice that and not buy the icky little things that I can't stand.
But anyways most of the stuff I need right now is the stuff for the nursery... and a couple of bigger things which I would only ever ask a family member to buy. So if you see a bigger item on the registry and think how rude.. it's only there for my relatives! Lol.

63 days left until my due date. And I'm hoping to have Seth early.. like 2 weeks early! Lol. But we'll see.

Baby Center says:

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

30 Weeks

I can explain this week in one word: Exhausted (-ing)

I literally woke up on Saturday, which was the first day of week 30, exhausted! I'd had plenty hours of sleep, but felt like I could have easily slept the rest of the day away. And it's been this way since.

With only 10 weeks left I can understand why I'm so tired. Plus being slightly anemic doesn't help anything. I'm figuring I'll be exhausted like this the rest of the pregnancy. As long as I get Seth's clothes all washed and put away, my hospital bag packed, his diaper bag packed, etc. then I'll be fine with being exhausted.

My mom has half of the nursery painted and should be finishing the rest of it this week, if all goes as planned. Then I can get everything set up! Yay!!
Hopefully I will have everything I need for the nursery by the time the Baby Shower is over with! So it can all be set up before he's born.. not that he'll be using any of it at first, it would just be one less thing to worry about later. If I don't have everything I won't freak out I'll have months before he'll need most of it.

Kicking is up, heartburn is down, swelling is about the same. His kicks are of course harder and therefore more painful, he still loves my ribs, but even with that love of my ribs I've been feeling much more movement toward the middle of my belly than I was before.

As I've said before my doctor appointments are every 2 weeks for now. Last doctor's appointment I found out that I am slightly anemic, but not enough that she needs to treat it. I'm done with blood work! YAY! At 36 weeks she'll do a couple of tests (A swab and cervix check. Fun, fun) And I believe that's around the time when I'll start going every week for my appointments.

I'm super excited and super ready to have this baby, but even though I would love to get L&D over with already I want him to "bake" until at least 37 1/2 weeks! I want a full term baby! No tubes and such.. I don't think I could handle that.

Whelp, around 10 weeks left to go! Hopefully it'll go by quickly!

What Baby Center has to say:

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

How your life's changing:

You may be feeling a little tired these days, especially if you're having trouble sleeping. You might also feel clumsier than normal, which is perfectly understandable. Not only are you heavier, but the concentration of weight in your pregnant belly causes a shift in your center of gravity. Plus, thanks to hormonal changes, your ligaments are more lax, so your joints are looser, which may also contribute to your balance being a bit off. Also, this relaxation of your ligaments can actually cause your feet to spread permanently, so you may have to invest in some new shoes in a bigger size. Remember those mood swings you had earlier in pregnancy? The combination of uncomfortable symptoms and hormonal changes can result in a return of those emotional ups and downs. It's normal to worry about what your labor will be like or whether you'll be a good parent. But if you can't shake the blues or feel increasingly irritable or agitated, talk to your doctor or midwife. You may be among the 1 in 10 expectant women who battle depression during pregnancy. Also let your caregiver know if you're frequently nervous or anxious.

28 Weeks

That's right, people I'm in my 3rd trimester! I'm beyond excited! I'm SOOOO close to getting (a) to meet my baby and (b) to no longer sharing my belly!

Ok so I had a Dr. visit on the 28th and Seth's heart rate was in the 150's. He's still breech, but has plenty of time to flip. Dr. did say if at 34 or 35 weeks he hasn't flipped then we will start going over the options, but I'm sure he'll flip and if he doesn't that's fine too. God has it in his hands. I also at this appointment had my GD 1 hour testing (they said they would call if there was a problem and that no news is good news) They said I would more than likely hear from them the next day and so far I haven't heard anything.
Now since they were already taking blood they took a little bit extra to check my thyroid because I've been losing lots of hair instead of getting the nice thick hair, but as I said so far I haven't heard anything from them so more than likely everything is fine. And if it isn't my thyroid than she said it's just the way my body is reacting to the pregnancy and more than likely I won't lose more hair after giving birth. By the way, so no one thinks I'm going bald or anything my hair is still super thick and full so I'm doing good.

It's been super hot here recently so I'm back to swelling up a lot. Heartburn still hasn't been bugging me that much. I've got plenty of back pain (upper back and shoulders not lower back) Breathing is a little hard at times. The heat is even more unbearable than before (I've never done well with heat). Getting up from bed, recliners, the sectional, the car, etc. is becoming even more difficult (Go figure)

I've been working on my registries :) After all I'm getting down to the final stretch on this pregnancy and I'll need to have the registries ready for the Baby Shower. Hopefully everyone will remember to remove things from the registry that they've bought.
Mom and I have been discussing the Baby Shower and picking out dates, she's going to contact someone about the location, I've picked out the colors I want to use for decor, we've discussed food, etc. Still haven't talked about games or such things, but I'm hoping not to take up a lot of time from people's day. So hopefully we can get a few fun, simple, quick games maybe a guessing game.. while everyone is doing the games I could eat and then while everyone is eating maybe I'll open gifts and then cake, which we can all enjoy together! I think that sounds pretty good. I want everyone to have a good time, but not feel like we're taking up hours of their busy day.

Baby Center says:

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

How your life's changing:

You're in the home stretch! The third and final trimester starts this week. If you're like most women, you'll gain about 11 pounds this trimester.
At this point, you'll likely visit your doctor or midwifeevery two weeks. Then, at 36 weeks, you'll switch to weekly visits. Depending on your risk factors, your practitioner may recommend repeating blood tests for HIV and syphilis now, as well as doing cultures for chlamydia and gonorrhea, to be certain of your status before delivery. Also, if your glucose screening testresult was high and you haven't yet had follow-up testing, you'll soon be given the 3-hour glucose tolerance test.

27 Weeks

Last week of the Second Trimester! Less than 3 months until my due date!

I cannot wait to have this baby and get my belly back. Sorry I don't like sharing my belly. And btw there's nothing beautiful or even cute about a pregnant woman's belly. It's gross! I cannot wait to have my stomach back to at least somewhat normal.

I'm still getting kicked in the ribs a lot, my belly is feeling heavy, a lot of weird feelings going on in my belly, a little less heartburn than before, way more backpain (which I expected given the extra weight), my belly button that was once an inny (that I loved very much) is now a flatty with a little bit of a flap at the top, I'm tired all the time, I haven't been swelling as much, etc.

Obviously I still really dislike being pregnant. It's not fun or enjoyable. But I am very thankful for the opportunity to have a child of my own.

At this time I'd say that I don't want to do this again, but there's a possibility that in a couple of years I might change my mind. I really want a girl and if the ultrasound is right and this is a boy then I wouldn't want to just give up on having a girl. Now on the other hand if the ultrasound is wrong and this is a girl I'd have no problem saying I'm done!
Hubby on the other hand will probably still want his second child. He's kinda stuck on 2. I'm saying he's lucky that I even wanted 1. But once again we'll see. I'm definitely going to get used to having this baby and give it some time before I for sure say that I do or don't want another.

Baby Center says:
 How your baby's growing:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

How your life's changing:

The second trimester is drawing to a close, but as your body gears up for the final lap, you may start noticing some new symptoms. Along with an aching back, for example, you may find that your leg muscles cramp up now and then. They're carrying extra weight, after all, and your expanding uterus is putting pressure on the veins that return blood from your legs to your heart as well as on the nerves leading from your trunk to your legs.
Unfortunately, the cramps may get worse as your pregnancy progresses. Leg cramps are more common at night but can also happen during the day. When a cramp strikes, stretching the calf muscle should give you some relief.

26 Weeks

Around 14 more weeks to go.. give or take. Still not really any changes, which kinda makes blogging about it boring, but oh well. He's still kicking away (and I'm still totally against people touching my belly) Not as if he'll move for anyone else anyways so what's the point.

I keep hearing of these women having their baby early as in at 25 weeks or 32 weeks and there have been quite a few of them. It makes me wonder if I should just go ahead and pack my bag now just in case. These women and their doctors have no clue why they went into early labor, but for some reason they did. On the plus side, to my knowledge, each child has been fine.

The nursery still isn't done or really even started on, but hey that's what happens when the person you want to paint it is a really busy person. Lol. Oh well, my mom is one of the most picky people I know, which means she's really good at painting so I know it will be done right. Also the plus of my mom doing it is I don't have to have any people I don't know in the house or have people over for a long period of time that I don't really get along with. If you haven't learned by now I'm not much of a people person so I really only have a few people that I like to see on a regular basis. Proud Loner right here, that's right. It's not that I don't like some people I just prefer to be alone.. well alone or spending time with my hubby or my mom. This is so not about Seth or my pregnancy.. oh well.

The closer we get to my due date the more nervous I get. Reason(s):
I'm afraid that some people will want to be over involved and/or at the hospital all the time. I'm all for people visiting and coming to see my baby (by mine I of course mean mine and my hubby's), but I want to have time for hubby, myself, and our new little one and I want to be able to rest, which I won't be able to do with people coming in and out a lot (at least the hospital will have visiting hours so I know I'm promised a break at some point in time).
And I can tell you right now I'm not going to want people at our house when we get home or probably anytime soon there after. And by soon I may mean days or weeks.
And I definitely won't want any family or friends in the room (besides hubby) if I'm breastfeeding. I know it's a natural thing and honestly if you've seen one boob you've seen them all (besides slight differences), but to me it's just a no no.
Of course I'm nervous about giving birth. But I'm not nervous about having a baby. Sure he won't come with a manual, but I'll learn as I go. And luckily with 12 nephews and nieces I know some of the stuff already and if I don't I can always ask my mom and/or my siblings. That's right I'm having lucky #13, it's a good thing I like the #13.

What Baby Center has to say:

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

24 Weeks

Ok so the picture isn't that great, but at least I posted one.
24 weeks, which according to my baby sites that means there's only around 16 more weeks left! That seems like such a short amount of time! (Which may explain why I in my dream Seth was born already.)

I've started swelling up more and more in my feet and occasionally in my hands. My heartburn has been pretty intense no matter what I eat or when I eat it. Thank God for Tums! My doctor did say if I get heartburn a lot and Tums doesn't work I can take something like Prevacid, but I'll just stick with Tums for now.

My next doctors appointment is in around 4 weeks and I'll be doing the Gestational Diabetes Testing (1 hr.) hopefully I'll pass. It's going to be a little difficult on me since I don't drink very fast or very much and now I know I'll have to. And hopefully I won't get sick!

Seth has been kicking more and more. And yesterday for the first time he kicked hard enough that I could see it from the outside. That was pretty interesting. He's kicking up in my ribs.. not comfy! Luckily he doesn't kick there a lot and so far not very hard. He still refuses to move for other people. Miles has been the only one able to actually feel him kick, which is driving my mom nuts. Lol.

Ok I pretty much just woke up so lets see what Baby Center has to say about this week.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
How your life's changing:
In the past few weeks, the top of your uterus has risen above your belly button and is now about the size of a soccer ball. Most women have a glucose screening test (also called a glucose challenge test or GCT) between now and 28 weeks. This test checks for gestational diabetes, a pregnancy-related high-blood-sugar condition. Untreated diabetes increases your risk of having a difficult vaginal delivery or needing a cesarean section because it causes your baby to grow too large, especially in his upper body. It also raises your baby's odds for other complications like low blood sugar right after birth. A positive result on your GCT doesn't mean you have gestational diabetes, but it does mean that you'll need to take the glucose tolerance test (GTT) to find out for sure.
Finally, if you don't already know how to spot the signs of preterm labor, now's the time to learn.
