Program Sign Up

Well I received all my information to get signed up for the medication program and got myself all signed up.
It informed me of the earliest day I'll be available to take my next pregnancy test.
Since I got my blood drawn today I should be hearing from my dermatologist office soon to set up my next appointment.
I can't wait to start the medication! It's time for a clear face.

First Dermatology Blood Test

I had to fast 10-12 hours before having my blood drawn, thankfully I slept during most of that because there's no way I would have made it otherwise. I don't fast well LOL.
Yay for monthly fasting, waking up early, going to a hospital, and having blood drawn! #sarcasm

News From The Dermatologist Visit

I went to see the dermatologist and she made some suggestions; to wash my face with CeraVe, she prescribed a topical cream Hylatopic Plus Cream and use it twice a day, and finally that I should be put on a medication called Isotetrinoin, which by the pictures I've seen does wonders!

The CeraVe is a Hydrating Cleanser. Not sure if this is what she will suggest I use from now on or if this is something to use while my face clears up, one of the many questions I'll have to ask.

The Hylatopic Plus Cream she has me on while I wait on the medication and while I'm on the medication.

The Isotetrinoin pill is a bit complicated. I have to be tested, blood test and pregnancy test, and I have to see my doctor one month before, every month during, and one month after I finish taking the medication because it causes major birth defects. Soooo I have to wait a whole month before I can start taking it. I still have to get my first blood work done so I'm not quite sure what date I'll start taking the medication yet. The medication is for 5-6 months so I have a good 7 to 8 months of doctor visits.

My mom said that my face is already looking better just by using the CeraVe and the Hylatopic Plus Cream. So that's awesome!

I can't wait to see the results of the medication!

It's going to be one big pain of a process, but if it works it will be completely worth it!

I will have to stay away from the sun or use huge amounts of sunscreen. The medication will dry my whole body so lots of liquids, lotion, and chapstick.

For 80% one dose takes care of the issue completely, but some people do need a second dose a couple years later. I REALLY hope I only need one dose.

I'm excited, yet nervous about the whole process. Pray for me. If I slip up on the process in any way I have to start the whole process all over again. I really don't want to start this process all over again!
